1, 2 and 3 carat prices and buying considerations
Prices checked: 9 October 2026 (Hong Kong time)
How much do lab grown diamonds cost? For RAGAZZA round, D-colour, IGI-certified loose diamonds with at least VVS2 clarity and Triple Excellent (3EX) grading:
1 carat: approximately HK$2,500–3,329, or NT$10,000–13,316.
2 carats: approximately HK$5,750–7,942, or NT$23,000–31,768.
3 carats: approximately HK$9,000–11,199, or NT$36,000–44,796.
These are loose diamond prices for the stated specifications. A complete RAGAZZA engagement ring costs the centre diamond price plus the setting price. The setting price already includes the metal, stone setting, manufacturing, side stones included in the design and services, with no separate charges for these items.
Searches for “lab grown diamond prices”, “man-made diamond prices” or “synthetic diamond prices” can produce widely different quotations. First confirm that the product is a lab grown diamond, then compare carat weight, shape, colour, clarity, cut, report and what the quotation includes. The tables and buying guidance below help you compare on consistent terms.
TWD budgets use this page’s HK$1 = NT$4 conversion for readers in Hong Kong and Taiwan. This is a budgeting reference rather than a live exchange rate or an official Taiwan showroom quotation; confirm the local quotation when purchasing.

Choosing between 1, 2 and 3 carats

1 carat lab grown diamond prices and budget
RAGAZZA 1 carat IGI-certified loose lab grown diamonds cost HK$2,500–3,329, approximately NT$10,000–13,316. If convenient everyday wear matters to you, try this size first and compare how different settings change its appearance. Allow for the total setting price before choosing the centre diamond; RAGAZZA does not charge separate stone-setting or manufacturing fees.
2 carat lab grown diamond prices and budget
The reference range for 2.00–2.09 carats is HK$5,750–7,942, approximately NT$23,000–31,768. Compare individual proportions, dimensions, reports and appearance to understand the variation within this range. Diamonds of the same weight can have different face-up diameters, so trying on a ring helps you judge whether it gives the presence you want.
3 carat lab grown diamond prices and budget
RAGAZZA 3 carat IGI-certified loose lab grown diamonds cost HK$9,000–11,199, approximately NT$36,000–44,796. If you want a more prominent centre stone, consider setting height, how the diamond is secured and your daily activities alongside the price.
Carat measures weight, not diameter. A 2 carat diamond does not look twice as wide as a 1 carat diamond. Check the millimetre dimensions and how the ring looks on your hand as well as the carat weight.
Loose diamond prices and complete ring prices
A loose diamond quotation covers the centre stone. When comparing complete ring quotations from different retailers, check whether the metal setting, stone setting, manufacturing, side stones and services are included. These components do not necessarily attract separate charges.

RAGAZZA complete ring price = centre diamond price + setting price. The setting price includes the design’s metal, stone setting, manufacturing, side stones and services. There are no separate stone-setting, manufacturing, side-stone or service charges. The total setting price can vary with design, material and customisation choices. Once you choose a combination, your consultant will provide the complete quotation.
Quotation component | How RAGAZZA includes it |
|---|---|
Centre diamond | Priced according to the selected diamond, with its specifications, report and availability stated |
Setting and metal | Includes the chosen material, design and metal used |
Stone setting and manufacturing | Included in the setting price, with no separate charge |
Design-specific side stones and services | Included in the setting price, with no separate charge |
When you see a 1 carat lab grown diamond advertised for a few thousand dollars, check whether the price covers a loose stone or a complete ring, and which currency is used. Quotations are directly comparable when they include similar components.
After choosing your centre stone, browse engagement ring designs and ask your consultant for a complete quotation using the same diamond and your chosen setting.
Why prices differ at the same carat weight
Check the 4Cs and shape first
The 4Cs are carat weight, colour, clarity and cut. Two 2 carat diamonds with different colour or clarity grades are not equivalent products: a D-colour VVS2 diamond should be compared with matching specifications. Compare round and oval diamonds separately too. This page’s price tables cover round diamonds.

The same cut grade can still produce different results
Even when two round diamonds have 3EX grading, their proportions, face-up dimensions and appearance can differ. Report grades help narrow the selection; viewing the diamond, its video or further optical observations adds detail. Read the Ideal cut buying guide to understand how proportions relate to cut.
RAGAZZA’s DAII™ Diamond Quality Index provides an additional comparison tool. It is the brand’s quality assessment index and should be used alongside the grading report and the individual diamond’s information.

Compare reports and services item by item
Reporting systems, quality selection, ring manufacturing and after-sales arrangements can all affect quotations. If a price is higher, ask which specifications or services account for the difference. A report’s name alone does not establish that one particular diamond is better.
Comparing GIA and IGI reports
When choosing a lab grown diamond, read the details of both GIA and IGI reports, particularly the issue date and assessment system.

From 1 October 2025, GIA introduced an assessment service for D–Z colour-range lab grown diamonds that expresses overall quality as Premium or Standard. Premium has several qualifying conditions and cannot be understood through a single grade from the earlier 4Cs reporting format. Older GIA lab grown diamond reports may use a different format, so establish which version you are comparing.
IGI continues to present lab grown diamond quality through 4Cs grading, including colour, clarity and cut grades such as D colour and VVS2 clarity. The main lab grown diamond price table above uses IGI quotations; the table below compares GIA and IGI prices. Check each diamond’s report version too.
GIA is valued in the market for its more conservative grading approach. Under the new GIA Premium assessment, a diamond must meet D colour, VVS clarity or higher, and Excellent polish and symmetry; round diamonds also require Excellent cut. These are demanding entry criteria. IGI provides a broader range of 4Cs grades for comparison, which also includes high-quality diamonds.
Within the same brand and at comparable specifications, GIA lab grown diamonds generally cost more than IGI lab grown diamonds. These RAGAZZA loose diamond quotations cover round, D-colour, 3EX lab grown diamonds with at least VVS2 clarity:
Carat range | GIA loose diamond price | IGI loose diamond price |
|---|---|---|
1.00–1.09 ct | HK$4,500–4,972 Approx. NT$18,000–19,888 | HK$2,500–3,329 Approx. NT$10,000–13,316 |
2.00–2.09 ct | HK$12,000–15,408 Approx. NT$48,000–61,632 | HK$5,750–7,942 Approx. NT$23,000–31,768 |
Price date: 9 October 2026. TWD budgets use the 1:4 conversion.
This comparison illustrates the generally higher GIA quotation within the same brand, but the premium is not a fixed percentage. Retailer, report version, proportions and service arrangements can change the difference, so compare individual diamonds.

Lab grown and natural diamond prices
Lab grown and natural diamonds have the same chemical composition, crystal structure and principal physical properties, but different origins. Natural diamonds form in nature, while lab grown diamonds develop through a controlled growth process. Moissanite and cubic zirconia are different materials and should not be included in a lab grown diamond price comparison.

For a like-for-like price comparison, match shape, weight range, colour, clarity, cut and reporting requirements, then check individual quotations on the same date. One price ratio cannot represent every carat and quality combination or predict future resale prices.
Natural diamond price table for 2026
The following starting budgets come from the natural diamond quotations in RAGAZZA’s latest full diamond selection catalogue. They provide a budget-conscious starting point for round, GIA-certified diamonds with G–H colour, SI1–SI2 clarity and Excellent or Very Good cut. Polish, symmetry and fluorescence vary by diamond. These specifications differ from the D-colour, at-least-VVS2 lab grown diamonds above, so the table helps with budgeting rather than establishing a fully matched price comparison.
Carat range | Natural loose diamond budget — HKD | Indicative budget — TWD |
|---|---|---|
0.50–0.59 ct | From HK$5,479 | From approx. NT$21,916 |
1.00–1.09 ct | From HK$14,300 | From approx. NT$57,200 |
1.50–1.59 ct | From HK$30,091 | From approx. NT$120,364 |
2.00–2.09 ct | From HK$67,096 | From approx. NT$268,384 |
3.00–3.09 ct | From HK$186,398 | From approx. NT$745,592 |
Price date: 9 October 2026. These are starting budgets for natural loose diamonds, excluding the setting. TWD budgets use the 1:4 conversion. When considering SI-clarity diamonds, examine the diamond or its video to assess inclusion positions and how they appear to the eye.
For a roughly 1 carat budget, RAGAZZA IGI-certified lab grown loose diamonds cost HK$2,500–3,329 (approximately NT$10,000–13,316), while natural diamonds meeting the conditions above start at HK$14,300 (approximately NT$57,200). The specifications differ, so this illustrates budget choices rather than a fixed difference between equivalent natural and lab grown diamonds. For an exact comparison, match shape, colour, clarity and cut in the full catalogue, then check individual quotations.
To compare the centre-stone size available within your budget, filter natural and lab grown diamonds separately on the diamond selection page, then compare similar specifications. Avoid contrasting a lower-grade lab grown diamond with a higher-grade natural diamond.

Understanding lab grown diamond price trends
Lab grown diamond wholesale prices have generally fallen over recent years, but not every size falls in every period. Edahn Golan’s research reported a decline of approximately 26% year on year in 2025, followed by a partial rebound in the third quarter of 2026.
The research published on 7 October 2026 reported an overall quarter-on-quarter increase of approximately 2% for 1–3 carat round lab grown diamonds in the third quarter. Within that group, 1 carat prices rose about 1.3%, 2 carat prices about 2.3% and 3 carat prices about 7.5%, while 1.5 carat prices fell about 3%. Round prices were still approximately 9% lower year on year. A recent rebound can therefore coexist with a longer-term decline.
These figures describe wholesale transactions, not showroom retail prices in Hong Kong or Taiwan. They cannot directly predict the size or direction of RAGAZZA’s next price change. Future prices are uncertain: historical declines have been common, while the latest figures also show that some specifications can rise.
The tables on this page are retail quotations dated 9 October 2026. To track a diamond you are considering, hold shape, carat range, 4Cs and reporting requirements constant and compare equivalent quotations over time. When planning a proposal or a piece of jewellery, consider the delivery date, budget and wearing needs together, without assuming future prices must fall.

Five things to check before buying
Match the diamond and report: confirm that it is a lab grown diamond and check the report number against the individual stone’s details.
Use consistent comparison criteria: match shape, weight range, colour, clarity, cut and reporting system.
Examine dimensions and appearance: look beyond the grade to millimetre measurements, video or the diamond itself.
Request a complete quotation: specify HKD or TWD and both the diamond and setting prices. RAGAZZA settings already include stone setting, manufacturing, design-specific side stones and services.
Confirm supply and delivery: check whether the diamond is in stock, whether sourcing is required and how long production will take.

RAGAZZA can help compare individual diamonds according to your budget, preferred centre-stone size and setting design. Explore premium lab grown diamonds or book a showroom consultation, then try on your preferred combinations before deciding.
Lab grown diamond price FAQs
Q1: How much does a 1 carat lab grown diamond cost?
A1: RAGAZZA round, D-colour, IGI-certified, 3EX loose lab grown diamonds with at least VVS2 clarity cost HK$2,500–3,329 for 1 carat, approximately NT$10,000–13,316. To make a RAGAZZA ring, add the setting price, which already includes stone setting, manufacturing, design-specific side stones and services.
Q2: How much does a 2 carat lab grown diamond cost?
A2: For the same specifications, the reference range for 2.00–2.09 carats is HK$5,750–7,942, approximately NT$23,000–31,768. Products with different shapes, quality selection or reports should be compared separately rather than assigned this range.
Q3: How much does a 3 carat lab grown diamond cost?
A3: RAGAZZA round, D-colour, IGI-certified, 3EX loose lab grown diamonds with at least VVS2 clarity cost HK$9,000–11,199 for 3 carats, approximately NT$36,000–44,796. A complete ring also includes the setting price, which covers stone setting, manufacturing, design-specific side stones and services.
Q4: Do the price tables include a complete ring?
A4: The tables cover loose centre diamonds and exclude the setting. A complete RAGAZZA ring costs the diamond price plus the setting price. The setting price includes the design’s metal, stone setting, manufacturing, side stones and services, with no separate charges for these items.
Q5: Why do lab grown diamonds of the same carat weight have different prices?
A5: Diamonds of similar weight can differ in shape, colour, clarity, proportions, reports and quality selection. Quotations may also include different services. Match specifications first, then compare the individual diamonds and quotation components.
Q6: Do GIA lab grown diamonds generally cost more than IGI diamonds?
A6: Generally yes, within the same brand and at comparable specifications. RAGAZZA 1 carat GIA loose diamonds cost HK$4,500–4,972 (approximately NT$18,000–19,888), compared with HK$2,500–3,329 (approximately NT$10,000–13,316) for IGI. For 2 carats, GIA costs HK$12,000–15,408 (approximately NT$48,000–61,632), while IGI costs HK$5,750–7,942 (approximately NT$23,000–31,768). GIA is valued for its more conservative grading approach, and Premium has demanding entry criteria. The difference varies by individual diamond and report version, rather than following a fixed percentage.
Q7: Are lab grown diamonds real diamonds?
A7: Yes. Lab grown and natural diamonds have different origins, but both are diamonds. Moissanite and cubic zirconia are other materials, not lab grown diamonds. Check the product description and grading report when buying.
Q8: Will lab grown diamond prices keep falling?
A8: Wholesale prices have generally declined over recent years, but further falls are not guaranteed. Edahn Golan’s research reported that 1–3 carat round lab grown diamond wholesale prices rose approximately 2% quarter on quarter in the third quarter of 2026, while remaining approximately 9% lower year on year. Some specifications can rise, and retail prices do not necessarily move in step with wholesale prices. Compare current quotations for the same specifications.
